This entry represents the WH-like domain found in the central region of KIN17 proteins, which folds into an atypical winged helix (WH) domain. It consists of a three-alpha helix bundle packed against a three-stranded beta-sheet [2]. Comparing with analogous WH domains, this one presents an additional helix and helix H3 is not positively charged as in classical DNA-binding WH domains [2]. KIN17 is a highly conserved protein that participates in DNA replication, DNA repair and cell cycle progression [1-3].
